At Little Fireflies Nursery Uckfield, our mission is to provide a loving, safe, and nurturing environment for children to grow and develop self-confidence. It will feel like a home away from home, a warm, comfortable, fun place to be. Our focus is the socio-emotional health and growth of children, their families, and caregivers. We believe that teaching kindness, resilience, and promoting curiosity and independence is at the heart of quality childcare. We believe that children learning resilience, independence, and curiosity and being part of a community is more important than learning ABCs and 123’s at this age. We aim for our children to experience awe and wonder in their daily activities.
Little Fireflies Staff.
Natalie Lang
Natalie is the Managing Director of the Out of School Clubs and can often be seen in the different settings. Natalie works closely with the Managers and Deputy Managers of the different clubs.
Debbie Buchner
Debbie is a Director and owner of the company. Debbie has over 25 years teaching experience and leads the Fireflies Nursery team and manages the Claremont Primary School setting.
Stacey Felton
Stacey has over 20 years of experience working in Crèches and Nurseries. Stacey is caring, calm, and patient with children that need extra care. Stacey is Level 3 and Paediatric First Aid trained.
Mat Buchner
Mat works as bank staff and often works in each setting. Mat is sporty and is often found outdoors encouraging children in outdoor sporting activities.
BB Prevost
BB is an assistant at our Uckfield setting. BB is currently studying art at college and assists in a local florist on a Saturday morning.
Bonnie Hankin
I have worked within early years for over 25 years and in that time I have developed a true passion for this stage of a child’s learning. I have been a deputy manager for many years and also managed my own setting.
Gweneth Gauld
Working with children has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember and I’ve never considered doing anything else.
Lily Rouse
I am currently studying dance at university after working as a dance teacher of all ages for 3 years. I have been around young children all my life and enjoy helping and watching them learn and grow.
Abbie Tester
Abbie is the manager of Little Fireflies, Uckfield. Her interest in children’s development led her to pursuing further studies becoming a certified Early Years Professional and Forest School Leader.
Poppy English
Poppy works full time at Little Fireflies and couldn’t imagine herself doing anything else. She has worked in childcare since an apprentice and is passionate about helping young children to develop whilst having fun.
